This painting, above, started out with many things going on—mostly a green color with red and yellow and much stamping to try to bring life to it. I wasn’t sure where it was going—so took a break for the Holidays. Sorry I don’t have a photo of the original. Back at it after the Holidays (never say total abstract art is easy!) I paintied over the whole thing with white acrylic—and relied on collage to perk it up. Here is a photo before the final finish where I realize there is a blue cross right in the middle of the painting—looks like a crucifiction—a real no-no.
So let’s see what we can do. I might add more of the rice paper collage—Yes—that seems to work. The cross is gone with a little white paint over the rice paper.
Above, you can see, I added a moon shape at top right.
Didn’t like it so rubbed it out with scratching and addition of more azo gold paint. The moon is gone after some more scraping and more azo gold paint. I am finally pleased with the painting. And have an idea for the next one.
